Priya Rore has explored various mediums, including TV, films, and OTT. However, her desire to play a prominent role prompted her to return to TV after a break. Last seen in Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey, the actress has made a comeback on the small screen after two years with Advocate Anjali Awasthi. She will portray Gini Awasthi, the protagonist’s sister. The show, a remake of the Bengali family drama Geeta LLB, features Shritama Mitra and Ankit Raizada as the lead couple.
Talking about her character in the show, she says, “I play the wife of the male lead’s brother, Abhay Rajput (Vicky Singh Kashyap). Unlike my previous role, where I portrayed a sweet and innocent girl, this character is quite money-minded. I marry Abhay because I want a wealthy husband and a lavish lifestyle. Her ambitions are her top priority, and she doesn’t care if she ends up hurting her loved ones in the process of achieving her goals.”
Before she ventured into television, Priya explored OTT platforms and also shot for a few films. “I initially aimed to be part of films and shot a few, which are yet to be released. Later, I moved to OTT and worked on a couple of web series. However, I was eager to find something more substantial. Fortunately, I later secured a pivotal character in Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey. Following the show, I played a small role in Na Umra Ki Seema Ho (NUKSH). I then decided to take a break from the medium because I wanted a more significant role to showcase my talent.”
After her track in NUKSH concluded, Priya returned to her hometown, Deoband, in Uttar Pradesh. “There was no specific agenda; I just wanted to spend some quality time with my family after being away from them for extended periods. When I came back to Mumbai, I resumed auditioning for films and web series. However, my desire for prominent characters and long tracks brought me back to television. That’s how I became a part of Advocate Anjali Awasthi.”
