Mridula Oberoi will be seen playing a mother to actors Zeeshan Khan and Ansh Bagri in the show Baaghin.
In a recent chat, she said, "It is for the first time that I'm trying a role like this... I'm playing a mother on screen. But my character Sudarshana is not just a mother, she has her own individuality in the story. Sudarshana was a model and got married at a young age. And there is a love story too that the audience will see. I feel it's a fresh approach that the makers have taken in this show. Hence I took up this role. It's rare that you find an interesting role like this in TV shows."
Talking about playing a mother to adults, she says, "We are actors and it's important to explore a character irrespective of age or orientation. I am offered a challenging part as Sudarshana who is a strong woman breaking the typical portrayal we have seen until now. I accepted the challenge. i am pushing myself out of my comfort zone and the results will be there to see. A viewer is swayed by emotions and not by age. It's good that as an actor I am getting an opportunity to play various parts and not be typecast in one mould. Age is just a number!"
Mridula feels that every role that an actor plays helps them further work on emotions. "I feel that this role will be one of the finest works I have done due to the layers of my character. Playing all these emotions on screen helps me grow as an artiste. I hope to continue entertaining the audience."
Mridula is known for featuring in TV shows like Kumkum Bhagya, Naagin 6 and Yeh Hai Chahatein.
