Though I’ll miss my son and my mumma this Diwali, I’ve learnt to celebrate life with joy — preparing good food, decorating my home, and sharing small tokens of love with my staff, guards, and helps who make my everyday brighter.”
For Mridula, the festival’s true essence lies in connection and gratitude. “The puja at home is my sacred moment of thankfulness,” she says. “Yet, my real Diwali — the one that truly lights up my soul — is when my son is home in India. He is the festival of my life, my brightest light.”
This November, her joy is double as her son will return from New Zealand for his annual break. “It’s going to be a month of celebration,” she smiles. “Because Diwali isn’t just about lighting diyas — it’s about lighting hearts with love, peace, and warmth.”
