Television actress Monika Chauhan, who is currently a part of Ranju Ki Betiyan, recently shot for a wedding sequence for her show. She had to wear a heavy lehenga for 10 days. Initially she loved the idea, but later was waiting for the shooting of the track to be over.
She says, “It was the first time that I was played a bride on screen. It was exciting.
I have grown up watching movies and TV shows and things like these have always fascinated me. But little did I know that I would have to shoot a wedding sequence for 10 days. We were shooting in harsh weather and that made the job more difficult,” shares Monika.
While on the wedding topic, we ask her about her dream wedding and she says she would want an intimate ceremony for herself.
“I belong to Shimla, a place where people are connected to nature. I would want a wedding like
Yami Gautam, it was so beautiful. But all this is a distant thought because I am single right now and I don’t have any marriage plans. But, yes, after shooting a marriage sequence, this is what I want now,” she says.
Monika has completed a year in the industry, but acting was not on her mind, she reveals. She participated in a few local beauty pageants and that's when she felt she could try her luck in showbiz. It wasn't easy initially but she managed to sustain in Mumbai.
She says, “I went through my share of struggles when I just came to Mumbai. Then I bagged a role in Radhakrishn and later Ranju Ki Betiyan. My parents were sceptical about sending me to Mumbai because they were worried for my safety, but now that I am managing things on my own well, they are happy. I used to live with a friend of mine earlier but now I live alone. Living alone is not easy but there is no gain without any pain they say."
