#MenToo: Karan Oberoi's bail plea likely to be heard on Tuesday

, who was arrested on Sunday following an FIR lodged by a tantrik-and-healer on charges of rape and extortion, was sent to judicial custody yesterday. The Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Andheri East rejected the request of the police for his custody. Karan's lawyer Dinesh Tiwari applied for bail today. TOI has been informed that the bail application has been tendered, which will be numbered on Monday. The hearing is likely to take place on Tuesday.

Talking to us, Dinesh Tiwari said, "We have filed the bail application for Karan Oberoi in the Dindoshi Sessions Court today. We are hoping that the matter will be heard next week. The courts are closed for the next two days and holiday courts are working now. The main contention in the bail application has been that the case is false and this has been foisted on Karan, as he didn't want to settle down with the complainant. These false allegations are apparent from the record, which has been submitted by the complainant in the Magistrate Court and the communication that's available with Karan, which has been placed on record in the hearing of the bail application."
