Producer Rajan Shahi is set to introduce a known face into the upcoming storyline of the popular show Anupamaa. Sources reveal that Manish Goel has been approached for a pivotal role and is likely to join the cast soon. His character is expected to cross paths with Rupali Ganguly, who plays Anupamaa.
A source informed us, “While specific details about his character and the upcoming storyline are under wraps, the role is expected to play a significant part in the narrative. The makers have nearly finalised Manish Goel, and he will begin shooting for the show shortly.”
Both Rajan and Manish didn’t respond to our text messages.
Manish Goel has appeared in several popular TV shows, including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Rishtey, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Bhabhi, Bhagyalaxmi, Nimki Vidhayak, Hamari Wali Good News, and was last seen in Kyunki...Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai.
In a previous interview, Manish shared the challenges he faced as an actor, saying, “From the age of nine, I knew I wanted to be an actor. When I moved to Mumbai 25 years ago, I faced challenges because of my complexion. I was dark and didn’t fit the conventional image of being good-looking. So, I accepted any roles that came my way. However, everything changed after the success of my music video Dil Le Gayi Kudi (1998), which opened doors to lead roles in TV shows.
Just when I thought the struggles were behind me, I faced another setback in 2010 when a show I hosted, Mahayatra, failed to attract viewers. I went through 100 auditions over three years before landing the antagonist role in Ayushman Bhava. That was a turning point in my career.”
He continued, “The rejections I faced only made me stronger. I’ll continue to work hard as I did when I started 25 years ago. Yes, experienced actors like me sometimes miss out on roles due to having a smaller social media following, but we must keep moving forward. I see this as just another phase of challenge, but I’m hopeful for a strong comeback.”
