Mangal Lakshmi actor Altamash Faraz: I’ve never believed in playing it safe
Altamash Faraz believes one of the biggest challenges in his career has been choosing not to follow familiar paths in an industry that often rewards what has already worked. Currently seen in Mangal Lakshmi, the actor says he has consciously tried to pick projects that offer something different rather than staying within a comfort zone.
Talking about the choices that shaped his journey, Altamash says, “I think it’s about choosing the kind of scripts and projects you want to do. I feel most of the projects in the TV industry have similar storylines.”
According to him, stepping away from established formulas is not always easy because many prefer to stick to proven routes. He shares, “So, I try to do something different, and that is one challenge because everyone tries to play it safe. Everyone follows the route that has been successful in the past and wants to get on that bandwagon so they remain in safe territory.”
The actor adds that he has never been comfortable taking the conventional route. He says, “But I’ve never really believed in that. I’ve always followed my instinct, whether it comes to work, life or decision-making.”
Altamash also points out that finding like-minded collaborators remains another challenge. The actor shares, “Trying to work with people who think differently is difficult because there are very few people who actually think differently and want to take risks.”
Despite the hurdles, he believes trusting his instincts has helped him navigate his journey. “The only way I’ve overcome them is by following my instinct and figuring out whether something feels right or wrong for me. Most of it has always been right,” he concludes.
