Mandira Bedi opens up about emotional struggles following Air India plane crash; takes help of a counsellor
Actress and fitness advocate Mandira Bedi has shared a deeply personal account of the emotional burden she has been carrying since the recent Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Mandira revealed that the tragedy has left her with a lingering sadness, prompting her to seek professional counseling to navigate the overwhelming emotions.
In a video posted online, Mandira spoke candidly about the persistent emotional weight she's felt since the accident. “You know, there's been this constant weight on my chest ever since the Ahmedabad plane crash. A kind of sadness that won't leave. It's not loud, but it's there in the background of everything. My work, my time with my kids. So, I decided to talk to someone. A counsellor, just to make sense of it all and not hold it all alone. If you're feeling the same way, anxious, low, off balance. Please know this, you're not alone. It's okay to feel what you're feeling. And it's more than okay to ask why,” she shared.
Along with the video, she wrote in her caption, “Some feelings don’t go away on their own. Sometimes, we need to talk it out… to lighten what we’ve been carrying silently. That’s what I’m doing. If you’re feeling heavy too… I see you.” She also added hashtags emphasizing mental health awareness: #YouAreNotAlone #MentalHealthAwareness #ItHelpsToTalk #HealingInProgress.
The devastating plane crash, which occurred on June 12 near Ahmedabad’s Meghani Nagar area, involved a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The tragic accident claimed 241 lives out of the 242 passengers and crew on board, leaving many shaken across the nation.
Mandira Bedi's TV serial career launched with a bang as the lead in the iconic 1994 show "Shanti," making her a household name. She continued to grace television with diverse roles in popular series like "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" and "24," showcasing her versatility. Her strong screen presence and memorable performances solidified her position as a prominent figure in Indian television.
