Maleeka Ghai is on cloud nine. According to her, she has a very meaty role in the ongoing 'Maitree' where she made an entry two days ago.
Maleeka tells ETimes TV, "So my last show was 'Rajjo' wherein I played Jhilmil which had a comic flavor ('Rajjo' ended prematurely). As it got over, I picked up a strong cameo as ACP Durga in 'Na Umra Ki Seema Ho'. Now, I am playing 'Kamna' and am very happy about my new assignment 'Maitree'. I have been introduced as Samarth Jurel's mother. Kamna is a Bengali lady but has a UP touch too in her lingo as she lived in UP all her life. Kamna would be a real challenge to play as she has 2 lingos. Although Kamna would appear to be extremely sweet and warm, she will be a grey character in reality. She will soon enter Tiwari's house, where her husband's first wife(Ananya Khare) stays. I will create havoc in the household. This is my third show with Sunshine Productions and it always a privilege to be part of the project. Sudhir Sharma and Seema Sawhney Sharma are one of the best producers I have come across in the TV industry."
Added Ghai, "As an actor it is exciting to portray a character like this which has many layers. With each character I play, I am evolving as an actor and polishing my craft. I think acting is a continuous process of learning. It is never enough; no matter how many characters you have played but every character comes with its own challenge."
