Makar Sankranti is a festival that brings a lot of warmth and joy. Skies filled with colourful kites, adults being children when the kites fly high or when they cut someone’s kite or just relaxing while having the til gul ladoss, the festival is indeed all about love, happiness, and smiles. Saru actor Mohak Matkar, who plays the titular role in the same show, recalls her childhood celebration and gives insights about how much she loves the kite flying festival.
Mohak shares, “I still fondly remember my childhood Makar Sankranti mornings, waking up to popular Bollywood kite-flying songs playing loudly on the speakers, creating an atmosphere that felt truly magical. Flying kites and having tilgul ladoos were the last part of the celebration. I loved watching my friends and family flying kites, cheering the loudest whenever a kite soared the highest or won a friendly battle in the sky. This is a time filled with laughter, music, and a sense of togetherness, which are all memories that I have imbibed with me all these years."
She added, "Makar Sankranti has always stood for warmth, merriment, and bringing people together with a sense of joy that comes with the indication of better days ahead.
Even as this is a working Makar Sankranti for me this year, the Makar Sankranti festivals are always within my heart. I wish everyone lots of love, good health, and happiness, and hope this joyous festival fills your homes with warmth, positivity, and endless smiles.”
Talking about the show Saru, the show currently focuses on Saru’s struggle to pass her exams. While Saru has been studying extremely hard to fulfil her dreams, Anika is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that Saru not only fails her exams but is also banned from the college forever.
