’, has joined the cast of ‘Guddan — Tumse Na Ho Payega’. The actress has been in the news for her personal life, too. While there have been rumours of her dating actor Adhyayan Suman for some time now, she has never spoken about it. However, for the first time, while talking to BT, Maera admits to being in a relationship with him.

She shares, “I first met Adhyayan at a party in 2018 and then, he started messaging me on Instagram. I didn’t pay much heed initially, but gradually, I fell in love with him. In fact, I proposed to him on New Year’s eve (2018). I wrote him a love letter, my first one, went down on my knees and asked him, ‘Shaadi karoge mujhse?’. His reply to my letter was the romantic song, ‘

’. Later, I featured along with him in its video, too (smiles!).”

However, she says that they have no immediate plans to tie the knot. Maera says, “Our career is our priority at the moment. I certainly wish to get married to him, but if it isn’t meant to be, we will accept it. I am just 23 and it’s too early for me to think about it.”

Talking about their relationship, she adds, “We have evolved and grown together. Adhyayan guides me, because he is more experienced. I have seen him get over his past relationship with great difficulty. He has battled depression and anxiety. I have tried my best to pull him out of it; it took time, but we are doing great today.”

On the work front, ask her if she was apprehensive about joining ‘Guddan — Tumse Na Ho Payega’ midway, and she replies, “In any case, I don’t like to associate with a show that runs indefinitely, because one graduates to playing a mother and a grandmother, eventually. I don’t want to play a mother at this stage of my career. In ‘Guddan’, I am playing a mother, but not a biological one. Besides, my character has both negative and positive shades.”
