Laughter Chefs 3 brings the Chefs Premier League; Karan Kundrra and Arjun Bijlani's teams compete against each other
A new competitive fever grips India’s favourite kitchen! 'Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment' takes a sporting detour this week as the show transforms into the most chaotic, laughter-filled tournament on television: the Chefs Premier League (CPL). At the centre of it all is Bharti Singh, gleefully stepping in as the most entertaining umpire the league has ever seen, joined by Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, who casually drops the bomb that he once played district-level cricket. Moving ahead teams are formed, Team Gas, captained by Karan Kundrra, and Team Lighter, led by Arjun Bijlani. Reem Shaikh makes a dramatic entry that instantly catches everyone off guard. She sets the tone for the madness that’s about to unfold.
But before the cooking begins, the drama kicks off with a player auction that feels straight out of the IPL playbook. Contestants are bid on like star cricketers while Bharti provides her trademark running commentary on every move. From Karan splurging twice the price to bag Elvish Yadav, to Tejasswi Prakash being snapped up for just one rupee more in a nail-biting bid, the auction quickly spirals into hilarious chaos. The biggest moment comes when Abhishek Kumar goes unsold at first and dramatically pitches himself to the captains, pleading for a spot on their team while the entire kitchen erupts in laughter.
Once the teams are locked in, the kitchen transforms into a full-blown league arena. Contestants walk in sporting bright orange and green jerseys, Kashmera Shah is appointed the official cheerleader bringing full stadium energy, and Chef Harpal advises the players to “read the pitch” before making their culinary moves. Moments later, the spectacle grows even bigger when a Sachin Tendulkar lookalike walks in carrying a gleaming golden trophy, instantly turning the kitchen into a roaring stadium. The contestants cheer his name like he’s the real Master Blaster as he joins Bharti and Chef Harpal at the judges’ table.
Speaking about captaining Team Lighter, Arjun Bijlani shared, “Cricket is almost like a religion in India, so bringing that league-style energy into the kitchen of Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment felt really exciting. The moment Bharti announced the Chefs Premier League and I was made captain, the competitive spirit naturally kicked in. Of course, you want your team to do well, but here the challenge is very different because while you are thinking like a captain, you’re also juggling spatulas and recipes at the same time. My team had Samarth, Krushna bhai, Nia, Reem, Kashmera and Vicky and let’s just say the cooking skills might be questionable, but the dinnertainment quotient is sky-high. Krushna bhai is probably the last person you’d expect near a stove, but he’s an absolute mastermind when it comes to sneaking ingredients from the other team, and I was fully planning to use that talent to our advantage."
He added, "To make it even more special, my cousin had flown in all the way from New York and was sitting in the audience cheering for us. But honestly, in Laughter Chefs, strategy, chaos, last-minute jugaad and non-stop leg-pulling are all part of the game — one moment you’re planning a winning dish, the next moment someone has stolen your ingredient and the whole kitchen turns into a comedy stadium. That chaos is exactly what makes it so much fun. To viewers, I want to say — iss episode mein aapke Karan–Arjun takraayenge!”
