Ask her what she feels about the content and characters that define television today, and the seasoned actress says, “I don’t watch much TV anymore. I guess there are some strong female characters on the small screen, the saas-bahu characters, for example, though I don’t agree with them. The kind of roles that we all did, up till 2000, were different and varied. We weren’t stuck in the kitchen and didn’t have to wear the pallu. So, I guess things have regressed.”

'. Explaining what keeps her away from the small screen, Kitu says, “I refuse most TV shows that are offered to me. I haven’t done one in 15 years. My part in 'Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai' was just a cameo for three months. She was always, and still is, very pretty and graceful.I fully agree that female characters on TV have regressed a lot. They are only decked up all the time, even while sleeping!
