Kiku’s arrest stalls film shoot, producer incurs huge losses
Comedian Kiku Sharda had taken a few days off from his film (2016 The End) shoot in Moradabad to complete his TV commitments in Mumbai. But he was soon arrested. Why should I alone be blamed, asks Kiku
The filmmaker says, “The Moradabad schedule is underway. We have Kiku’s dates from January 4 to 24.
But he had taken leave for a few days for his TV commitments. He was supposed to start work on January 13 but he was arrested. We are now expecting him to resume by January 16. Even if he manages to do that, we would have lost a couple of days of shoot. He plays a crucial role, so we couldn’t shoot a single scene without him. Monetarily, this is setting us back by `80 lakh. Since Kiku was to shoot with
Divyendu Sharma, Harshad Chopda and Priya Banerjee, getting new combination dates is difficult. Moreover, we can’t extend the Moradabad schedule, so we’ll have to shift to Mumbai and recreate the setting. This will further add to the production costs. At the end of it, I’m losing over `1 crore, which is a huge amount for me.”
