’, which recently went in for a three-year time leap. While she is known for her comic turns on TV, the show will mark her first outing in a negative role.

Talking about her character, Khushbu says, “I’m playing Gaurav’s sister in the show, post the leap. My character has grey shades, and she will wreak havoc in the lead pair’s life. I am not at liberty to divulge more about my character at this point. I am quite excited about this role, as I have not a played negative character so far.”

Khushbu tied the knot with Surya Dhakray in December, 2017. While she returned to work immediately after her wedding, she took a break after ‘Bhootu’. The actress explains, “I had started shooting for ‘Bhootu’ within 10 days of my marriage. I even did two shows — ‘TV, Biwi Aur Main’ and ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’— at a time. It was quite challenging and hectic to juggle two shows. It took a toll on my health and I decided to take a break from TV. Another reason for staying away was that I was getting offered the same kind of roles. As an actor, I wanted to try different mediums and roles. During the time I stayed away from TV, we added a new member to our family — our pet dog Handsome. I enjoyed my journey of being a pet parent for almost seven months. I wanted to be around him till he was grown up to stay without me.”
