Seasoned actress Ketki Dave is all set to make a comeback on the small screen. After impressing the audience with her impeccable comic timing on shows and films, she will now be seen in a never-before-seen avatar. The actress has joined the cast of Siddharth Kumar Tewary's '

Chandragupta Maurya

', which also features Kartikey Malviya, Tarun Khanna and

Sourabh Raaj Jain

. It will also mark her debut in the historical genre. As reported by us, 'Chandragupta Maurya' will be a seamless transition and extension of the show '

Porus

'. After effortlessly playing the funny Gujju ben on TV and in the film, 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', Ketki will break the stereotype by essaying a strong character on 'Chandragupta Maurya'.

The actress, who was last seen on the show, 'TV, Biwi Aur Main', says, "This is my first historical show and I am quite excited about the project. I wanted to explore the genre since quite some time. It's amazing to learn about these historical characters and the era during the course of the show. Besides, I also wanted to work with Siddharth, as I have loved his shows. 'Chandragupta Maurya' will be instrumental in changing the way people perceive me as an artiste."

Talking about the challenges of doing a historical show, Ketki says, "The challenge with such shows is to wear heavy costumes, which one doesn't usually wear. Another task is to essay a character, which is from a different era. As an artiste, I have to assume certain things while playing the part. However, the biggest of them all would be staying in Umbergaon for the shoot, where the set of the show has been erected. I will be away from my family. It's not in my comfort zone, as we are used to coming back home from the shoot at night."
