Kaun Banega Crorepati: Throwback to when the Narula brothers won Rs 7 crore jackpot

Kaun Banega Crorepati has always been one of India’s most intense quiz-based shows. It has had 16 seasons up till now and season 17 of the show is soon the premiere. Many people as well as celebrities have showed their intelligence and graced the hotseat.

Here's a look at the time when two brothers came to the show to compete for the cash prize. In season 8 of the show, Achin and Sarthak Narula appeared on KBC. They have created history by winning the Rs. 7 Crore jackpot on the show. In so many seasons, the pair of brothers have been the only one to win the prize.

At first, the brothers expected to only win a few lakhs. As the game-show proceeded, they got excited and with every right answer they wanted to play more and more. The quiz was tough but the brothers made it till the last question, the jackpot question.

Amitabh Bachchan, the prominent personality who hosts the show finally proceeds to ask them the final question. The question was, Who commanded the 'Hector', the first British trading ship to land at Surat?

After a few moments of careful consideration, Achin and Sarthak answered with William Hawkins. The answer was correct and so the brothers ended up winning the jackpot prize.

Up until today, they have been the undisputed winners of the game-show. No one has surpassed their record so far. In an earlier interview, they mentioned that it took them 10 years to go through the KBC auditions.

The promos of the new season of the show has been released and will air from August 11 onward.
