Kaun Banega Crorepati: Here's a look at the previous crorepatis and where are they now

With the premiere of the thirteenth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati on August 23 and raised excitement amid the audience, let's revisit the winners of the previous seasons of this quiz show. A look at where are they now:

IPS officer Mohita Sharma and Nazia Nasim were the two crorepatis of Kaun Banega Crorepati 12. They became the all-female clan to win Rs 1 crore and scream women power. Both the women impressed host Amitabh Bachchan with their knowledge and gameplay.

Sanoj Raj became the first contestant to win Rs 1 crore on the eleventh season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Back then, he aspired to become an IAS officer. Apart from him, Babita Tade also won a crore. She would prepare 'khichdi' for school kids and earn Rs 1500 monthly, which left Big B shocked. Another crorepati, Ajeet Kumar from Bihar was quick with his answers and played the game swiftly. He used only two lifelines - audience poll and flip the question - until he reached the top. Ajeet is a jail superintendent. He previously worked with Indian Railways as a station master for over 16 years.

Binita Jain won the tenth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati and wanted to give her son a better life. After winning the amount, she joined a coaching centre and took up teacher's job in Guwahati and helped her kids and family.

Anamika Majumdar - a social worker, who works with an NGO, was the first crorepati of the ninth season. Majumdar invested the money for the betterment of the NGO.

The Narula brothers - Achin and Sarthak from Delhi graced the hot seat and won the grand prize of Rs 7 crore. The brothers used the amount for their mother's cancer treatment.

Firoz Fatima was the first woman contestant of Kaun Banega Crorepati season 7 to win Rs 1. crore. Firoz Fatima, who gave up her studies after the death of her father, used the money to stabilise her family's situation. Another contestant, Taj Mohammad Rangrez also won a prize worth Rs. 1 crore through his knowledge. A history teacher by profession, he used the money for his daughter's treatment for partial vision impairment, bought a house and funded the marriage of two orphaned girls.

Sunmeet Kaur held a degree in fashion designing but couldn't pursue her career because of her in-laws. After winning in KBC, she started her own fashion house.

Sushil Kumar was a computer operator from Bihar and won Rs. 5 crore in KBC in 2011. He became the first contestant to win such massive amount on the show. But according to his social media post, he called winning Rs 5 crore to be the worst phase of his life where he almost divorced his wife, got bankrupt and turned an alcoholic.

Rahat Taslim participated in the fourth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2010 and created history by winning Rs. 1 crore as prize amount. Rahat was preparing for her medical exams when she was married off. After winning the amount, Rahat opened a garment showroom in a mall in Giridih.

Season 3 of Kaun Banega Crorepati did not see any winner and the KBC 2 was won by Brajesh Dubey. He hailed from Guna and was an engineer, who won Rs 1 crore on the show.

Harshvardhan Nawathe had received a call to audition for Kaun Banega Crorepati when he was studying for Civil Services exam. He became the first-ever crorepati of this quiz show and went to the UK to pursue higher studies. Later, he got married and works with a multinational conglomerate company.
