Kaun Banega Crorepati: All the contestants who became crorepatis in the Amitabh Bachchan hosted show

Kaun Banega Crorepati, currently in the 15th season, got its first crorepati in Jaskaran Singh on September 5. Over the past several years, each season has gotten many crorepatis, at times more than one. Here, take a look at all past crorepatis.

21-year-old Jaskaran Singh created history by becoming the first contestant to win Rs 1 crore this season. Jaskaran Singh unveiled his aspirations to become an IAS officer. Jaskaran told ETimes TV in an exclusive conversation post his win, “I’ve been trying to be on KBC for the last four years and would always imagine how it would be when I will go on the show. Whenever someone won Rs 1 crore, I would put that moment on repeat and keep watching it, hoping that one day I would create it. Finally, my imagination came true.”

Kavita Chawla, from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, achieved the milestone by becoming the sole crorepati of the 14th season. Playing the game fluently, she couldn’t answer the question for the jackpot amount – Rs. 7.5 crore. Kavita revealed in the show that she had been preparing for KBC since past 20 years and her son’s books helped her study. Even though Kavita has studied only till Class XII, she has tried to keep her reading and learning interest alive.

Himani Bundela from Agra, who successfully answered 15 questions to secure a prize of Rs 1 crore, chose not to pursue the Rs 7 crore question. She became the show's first visually impaired crorepati in Season 13. Sahil Aditya Ahirwar, a Chhatarpur resident in Madhya Pradesh and the son of a security guard, became the second crorepati for the season. The third crorepati of the season was Geeta Singh Gaur, a 53-year-old homemaker hailing from Gwalior.

Nazia Nasim from Ranchi, Jharkhand became season 12's first crorepati. Nazia, from Delhi played an exceptional game and won Rs 1 crore. Mohita Sharma, an IPS officer, made an interesting revelation after winning 1 crore. Mohita Sharma said that she considers herself to be lucky – not because she won Rs 1 crore in the show, but because she got two Maggi masala sachets in one pack.

Season 11 had four contestants winning Rs 1 crore and Babita Tade was the female contestant to achieve this feat. Babita Tade’s personal story touched everyone’s heart. She prepared 'khichdi' for school kids and earned Rs 1500 monthly. Babita quit the game at Rs 7 crore question but she had the right answer to it. Sanoj Raj became the first contestant to earn Rs 1 crore. He aspired to be an IAS officer back then. ​Hailing from Madhubani in Bihar, Gautam also won Rs 1 crore. Ajeet Kumar, a resident of Bihar, who worked as jail superintendent and a station master with Indian Railways became the fourth crorepati.

Binita Jain won the tenth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati and later joined a coaching centre in Guwahati. She wanted to give her son a better life with the winning amount.

Anamika Majumdar was a social worker, who was associated with an NGO. The contestant used the winning amount - a crore for the progression of that NGO.

The Narula brothers from Delhi, Achin and Sarthak, took the hot seat and won the big prize of Rs 7 crore. The brothers selflessly allocated the entire sum towards their mother's cancer treatment, displaying their familial devotion.

Firoz Fatima became the first crorepati of the seventh season, who had given up studies post her father's demise, utilised the winning amount to stabilise her family's financial condition. Taj Mohammed Rangrez also won Rs. 1 crore for his knowledge. He utilized the money to pay for his daughter's partial eyesight impairment therapy, to buy a house, and to sponsor the weddings of two orphaned girls.

Sunmeet Kaur, armed with a fashion design degree, faced career restrictions imposed by her in-laws. However, after her triumphant victory in KBC, she ventured into entrepreneurship and established her very own fashion house.

Sushil Kumar, hailing from Bihar and working as a computer operator, won Rs. 5 crore prize in the 2011 edition of KBC. He stood as the only contestant to achieve this feat. Surprisingly, in a candid social media post, he revealed later that this life-changing moment marked a turbulent period in his life. The newfound wealth had nearly led to a divorce with his wife, financial bankruptcy, and a struggle with alcoholism.

Rahat Taslim participated in this quiz show in 2010 and made everyone proud by becoming the first female contestant to win a crore in the seasons so far. Rahat was preparing for her medical exam at that time when she got married off and opened a garment mall with the winning amount.

Season 3 of Kaun Banega Crorepati did not produce a champion, whereas in KBC 2, Brajesh Dubey became the only crorepati. Hailing from Guna, he was an engineer who triumphantly claimed the prize of Rs. 1 crore on the television series.

While Harshvardhan Nawathe was diligently preparing for the Civil Services examination, he unexpectedly received an audition invitation for Kaun Banega Crorepati. He went on to become the quiz show's first-ever crorepati and subsequently relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue higher education. Later in life, he tied the knot and embarked on a successful career at a prominent corporation.
