Kaun Banega Crorepati 17: Host Amitabh Bachchan shares a hilarious story from his boarding school days; leaves the audience in splits
The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 opens with rollover contestant Pratibha Singh, who runs a yoga studio in Udaipur, Rajasthan, along with her husband. Amitabh Bachchan greets her and shares that he accidentally broke his glasses in the morning and is currently wearing a replacement pair. He amusingly adds that he has another pair with a coloured frame and asks Pratibha for her opinion. She praises his look and Big B decides to wear the colourful specs while hosting the show. Pratibha shares that her reason for coming on the show is to buy a yoga studio of her own, as the one she and her husband currently run is on rent.
During the conversation, Pratibha spoke about the importance of mental balance and demonstrated Bhramari Pranayama, a yogic breathing technique known for its calming effect. Using the KBC stage as a platform, she guided Amitabh Bachchan and the audience through the exercise.
Explaining the technique, Pratibha said, “You may place your hands in any mudra, such as Prana Mudra or Gyan Mudra. Sit comfortably in Sukhasana with your legs crossed, place your hands gently on your knees, close your eyes, take a deep breath in, and then exhale while making a humming sound like a bee.”
The moment became one of the highlights of the episode as Amitabh Bachchan followed Pratibha's instructions. She added that the breathing practice helps calm the mind and is easy to incorporate into daily routines.
Pratibha faces a question for Rs 3,00,000. Which of these national parks is a a part of the World Wide Fund for Nature's 'Tarai Arc' Landscape Program? As Pratibha is not confident of the answer, she decides to use her two lifelines 'Sanket Suchak' and 'Audience Poll'. She selects the most voted Option A) Jim Corbet.
While explaining the answer, Mr. Bachchan shares that he knows a great deal about mountains because his school, Sherwood College, was situated close to them. He adds that every couple of months, a man-eater would be spotted near the school campus. These sightings usually happened at night, and by the next morning, the students would discover pug marks around the compound. He narrates a hilarious incident when all the kids decided to catch a man-eater and they went with bats, hockey sticks and rakets. However, upon reaching the compound wall, they spotted a long tail of a man-eater and all the kids ran from there. He said, "Itni tezi se hum bhaage hain, itni tezi se hum kabhi apne jeevan mein nahi bhaage'.
The audience erupted in laughter as Mr. Bachchan continued his story. He recalled a student at his school who had a weak heart and wasn’t permitted to take part in sports activities. Yet, during a man-eater sighting, this very student joined the group. The moment everyone started running, he sprinted with such incredible speed that it shocked everyone. Big B’s anecdote left the audience in splits.
Pratibha gets stuck while answering a question for Rs 5,00,000 and uses another lifeline. She takes help of her '50-50' lifeline. Which of these Union Territories does not have a legislative assembly?
She selects Option C) Lakshawadeep and wins the amount.
Next, Pratibha answers 7 questions correctly and wins Rs 70,000. She decides to revive her 'Audience Poll' lifeline.
For the next question, she again takes the help of the 'Audience Poll' lifeline. Which Maratha statesman was the commander of the Maratha armies at the Third Battle of Panipat? She goes with Option B) Sadashivrao Bhau and wins Rs 7,50,000.
Big B reads the question for Rs 12,50,000. Which writer, born Shyamlal Babu Rai, wrote the lyrics for songs in films like 'Don' and 'Qurbani'? As Pratibha is unaware of the answer, she decides to quit the show. Before leaving the show, she takes a guess and selects Option A) Shailendra but it is the wrong answer. The correct answer was Option D) Indeevar.
Pratibha takes home Rs 7,50,000.
