Kaun Banega Crorepati 17: Contestant Alpeshkumar on having a long distance marriage with wife living in different city for Government job; says ‘It’s her moment to shine’
The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 saw contestant Alpeshkumar Parmar continue his thrilling journey on the hot seat as he played a brilliant game while also sharing an inspiring story of love, sacrifice, and support in his marriage. His game began with the question for Rs 1 lakh, which he answered confidently.
For the Rs 2 lakh question, “Which country hosted the 17th BRICS Summit in 2025?” with options A. Brazil, B. South Africa, C. China, D. Russia, Alpeshkumar used the Audience Poll lifeline and correctly answered option A. Brazil.
He later used the Sanket Suchak lifeline for the Rs 5 lakh question: “‘Spasa’ in the Vedic kingdoms and ‘orar’ in the Sangam kingdoms refer to which of these?” The options were A. Army Chiefs, B. Spies, C. Treasurers, D. Queens. With the hint’s help, he went with option B. Spies, which turned out to be correct.
During the game, Alpeshkumar shared his heartfelt personal story, revealing how he and his wife manage a long-distance marriage as his wife works in another city after securing a government job. He expressed pride in her achievements while highlighting how he balances work and home for their family.
He said, “My son is very mature. He has known about things since very early. Even when I come home late, he handles things at home. Even my wife, the way she showed confidence and, in very little time, she ranked and got a job in Surat. It is a very proud moment for me. Sometimes, people find it odd that my wife is working in some other city, and I handle household chores. Had I bagged a government job, she would do the same for me. It is my moment to be supportive and her moment to shine.”
In the Super Sandook round, Alpeshkumar won Rs 80,000, reviving his Audience Poll lifeline.
For the Rs 7.5 lakh question, “The nose of Shinkansen, the Japanese bullet train, is inspired by the beak of which bird?” with options A. Woodpecker, B. Kingfisher, C. Pelican, D. Crane, he used the Audience Poll again and correctly chose B. Kingfisher.
He then used the 50:50 lifeline for the Rs 12.5 lakh question: “Which of these currencies was issued during the rule of the Nizams of Hyderabad?” The options were A. Begumpet Riyal, B. Dakhni Tanka, C. Osmania Sicca, D. Nizami Riyal. Left with options A and C, he correctly answered C. Osmania Sicca.
For Rs 25 lakh, he faced a tough question: “Which Indian filmmaker played the role of Gasim in the Oscar-winning film Lawrence of Arabia?” Options: A. Prithviraj Kapoor, B. I.S. Johar, C. Raj Khosla, D. Mehboob Khan.
Without any lifelines, Alpeshkumar decided to quit the game. After quitting, Big B asked him to guess the answer, and he chose A. Prithviraj Kapoor, which was incorrect. The right answer was B. I.S. Johar.
Though he couldn’t answer the Rs 25 lakh question, Alpeshkumar’s journey was marked by intelligence, determination, and his touching story of family support, leaving both the audience and Amitabh Bachchan deeply moved.
