Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Amitabh Bachchan praises Sunil Gavaskar’s cricket commentary skills, says ‘he gives his unbiased opinion’
In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Pankajini Dash, a pharmacist from Cuttack, Odisha, secures her spot on the hot seat. She says, “It took me 24 years from home to reach this hotseat.”
Host Amitabh Bachchan first wants to know the meaning of her name. She says, “It means lotus. My grandfather named me.”
Pankajini runs a small, well-known shop in her locality, though no one knows its official name; the shop is affectionately called ‘Nani ki Dawaai ki Dukaan’ by the locals, a place where people trust her for remedies and advice.
Pankajini Dash’s journey has not been easy, but through it all, her son has been her unwavering support. He has been her pillar of strength, always encouraging her to keep going. "For all those who have pointed fingers and tried to demotivate you, today you've shown them that you’ve made it," he tells her proudly. Despite facing years of setbacks and losing hope after 24 long years of trying, Pankajini's son never stopped believing in her. He constantly reminded her, “Good things take time,” and pushed her to keep moving forward, always motivating her with the simple yet powerful words, "You can do it."
Her question for Rs 1000 is: Who among these does not usually work in a hospital? A. Doctor, B Commentator, C. Nurse, D. Surgeon. She correctly answers option B.
Big B goes on to say, “I have seen these commentators only praise the team they are from. I get very angry. But our Indians, they are not biased. Like Sunil Gavaskar. He gives it back no matter what commentators from other countries say. I just made this random rants.”
Pankajini says that her family is very filmy. She shared, “My father was big fan of Dilip ji and Guru Dutt. He kept my younger brother’s name Guru Dutt.”
