and other city landmarks. We caught up with Tejasswi for a quick chat where she spoke about her chemistry with Karan, film projects and love for Kolkata. Excerpts:


Welcome to Kolkata. Are you having fun here?

It’s a very short trip. We are here for an event that Karan and I had to attend. But Kolkata is always a lovely city to be in! From kathi rolls to sandesh and jhalmuri – we had a blast eating a lot of yummy food! A few years ago, I shot in Kolkata for my show Swaragini. So, this trip made me go down memory lane too. Seeing

, Park Street and so many other amazing spots in the city made me quite nostalgic this time around.

Evidently, you and Karan are the jodi of the season, giving everyone #couplegoals. What’s the secret behind your chemistry?

There is no secret. Karan and I are very honest and open about our relationship. We are just ourselves with each other and we make sure that nothing about that changes! That is what works best for our relationship.

You have been working in the television industry for a while. Tell us how reality shows impact an actor’s life? Also, how does the preparation for a reality show differ from a fiction show?

In reality shows, the audience gets to know the real you, and that definitely makes a big difference because who you are as a person should be known to the viewers. Preparations for reality shows and fiction shows obviously differ because fiction shows are more character and script-oriented than reality shows, which are more focussed on the particular genre of that show – be it dance, stunts or anything else.

You are currently working in a Marathi film. How do you plan to explore your film career further?

Naagin is happening for me at the moment, and it's honestly going great! After the first season, this one is doing really well, and it’s amazing to see the kind of response we are getting each weekend for the show. I will be able to reveal my Marathi film details closer to its release, but yes, I am super excited. Films, in general, are definitely on my mind. But I will take it up only when the right opportunity comes along.
Both you and Karan enjoy an enormous social media following. And none of you shies away from showcasing your love. Do you see social media as a boon to reach out to your followers or a bane that it invades privacy?
Social media is a two-way street. While it's a great way to keep us connected with our fans and well-wishers, it sometimes invades our privacy. But looking at the bright side of this platform, the love Karan and I have received from people via social media has been overwhelming. The lovely messages that we receive every day – be it for ourselves or us as a couple – just fill our hearts with so much love for these beautiful people who always wish us well.
