Kashish Kapoor raises concern over loud Ganpati visarjan processions, says 'Kitna impress karoge Bappa ko?'
Actor and former Bigg Boss 18 contestant Kashish Kapoor has become the centre of attention online after posting a strongly worded video on Instagram. On Tuesday, she shared her frustration with the constant loud dhol and music being played for hours during a Ganpati visarjan procession near her home.
In the video, Kashish questioned the type of devotion that comes at the cost of disturbing others. Speaking directly to her followers, she said, “Dusro ko harass karke kaunsi bhakti hoti hai? And now, I know ke main yeh bol rahi ho toh aayenge kuch Dharam ke rakshak aur poojari mere comments section mein, mujhe gaali dene ke liye. But, please bear with me when I say this.”
She explained that even though she lives on the 20th floor of her building, the noise levels were unbearable. According to her, shutting windows and doors made no difference as the sound was still too loud. “Main 20th floor pe rehti ho aur mere ghar ke saare khidki darwaze bandh hai and yet jo yeh neeche shor ho raha hai, yeh mere sar mein ghus raha hai,” she said.
At the same time, Kashish made it clear that she respects the festival and has also been a part of Ganpati visarjan celebrations in the past. However, she strongly felt that the excessive duration of the music was unnecessary. “I understand ke visarjan hai, procession hai, main bhi gayi hu, and I love it. The feeling is enchanting and amazing. Lekin bhai, 15-minute, 20 minute, aadha ghanta, ek ghanta, saade teen ghante se yeh baje jaa raha hai. Kitna impress karoge Bappa ko ek hi corner mein baja baja ke?” she questioned.
Kashish said the devotion would not be any less if the music was played at a more reasonable volume. “Aur thoda sa agar reasonable volume pe bajaoge toh Bappa bura maan jayenge kya? Thoda logical, reasonable decimal mein toh bajao,” she added.
Expressing her frustration further, she commented on the lack of rhythm in the continuous drumming. “Na sur hai na taal hai, khaali peete jaa rahe ho aur saade teen ghante se peet rahe ho. Sar mein dard shuru ho gaya hai bhai, band kardo ab. God will understand you love them. Please stop harrassing us,” Kashish said.
Her video has quickly gained attention on social media, sparking divided opinions. While a section of users praised her for raising an issue that many quietly face, others accused her of being insensitive toward religious practices.
