Karanvir Sharma to play the male lead in Safal Hogi Teri Aradhna; Sudhaa Chandran cast as the antagonist
Karanvir Sharma, who was last seen in Rabb Se Hai Dua before exiting in February this year, is back in action. He has been cast as the male lead in Ravi Raj’s Safal Hogi Teri Aradhna. Gauri Salgaonkar will play the titular role, while Sudhaa Chandran has been roped in as the antagonist in this family drama.
A source associated with the show tells us, “The story revolves around surrogacy. Aradhna (Gauri Salgaonkar) is a talented sculptor who delivers dabbas to support her family. When her grandfather’s life is at risk, she agrees to become a surrogate mother for Madhavdas (Karanvir Sharma) and his wife Damini, to save him. However, after Damini’s untimely death, Aradhna gets married to Madhavdas but is neither accepted by him nor his family. Karanvir’s character is a man of strong principles and charisma. The shoot for the show begins tomorrow.”
Sudhaa Chandran, who will play Menka (Karanvir’s onscreen sister), was last seen in Doree. In a previous chat while talking about the lack of opportunities in films and how television has embraced her, Sudhaa told us, “Having started my journey from films, I do have a regret that the film industry has not done me justice. I’d have consoled myself if TV also had not accepted me with the thought that probably I was not meant for this. However, I became one of those TV actresses who survived a long time doing meaty roles in the industry. When the TV industry has faith in me, why does the film industry fail to trust me? Especially even after giving hits like Malamal Weekly, I am nowhere. When people ask me why I am not doing films, I say jab bulayenge tab karenge na. I don’t want to be disloyal to the TV industry. I won’t abandon TV, as it has given me everything, unlike the film industry that didn’t offer me opportunities when I wanted them.”
