Actress Jia Mustafa, who essays the role of Saumya Saxena, Adit’s (Naman Shaw) second wife in Mangal Lakshmi was spotted participating in Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
In a conversation with us she revealed how the festival is an important part of her life. "I have always felt and lived a special connection with Ganpati Bappa. I still remember the first year we got him home. I was just starting out in my career and on the day of Ganesh Visarjan (Immersion of Idol of Shri Ganesh), I received a call for a short video commercial, which was for one of the biggest brands and turned out to be an opportunity for me."
She continued, "And down the years there have been many such instances where I’ve felt he’s watching over me & protecting me at all times. This is my favourite time of the year. There is so much positivity in the air and Mumbai just comes alive with color, music and devotion."
"What I love the most is meeting my loved ones, visiting homes of my friends and extended family. of course cheating on my diet and gorging on modaks (blinks)," the actress added, highlighting her affection for the festival.
Talking about her celebrations this year. She shared, "This year we got a day off from our shoot. I enjoyed my day witnessing the magnificent idols in pandals, the vibrant decorations and having Bappa's blessings. My fellow cast members and I visited Mangal’s (Deepika Singh) house first and spent some time with her family. After which I visited my Nani’s (maternal grandmother) house which is an annual tradition, followed by my bhua’s (Father's sister) beautiful Bappa Darshan. And interestingly lots more visits lined up this week and if my work permits I’d love to visit a few pandals and seek blessings."
Jia Mustafa, also known for shows like Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, Pavitra Rishta, Bisaat, and Carry On Alia, among others.
