Jaya Bhattacharya and Mouli Ganguly to feature in upcoming show Bal Shiv

Actresses Jaya Bhattacharya and

Mouli Ganguly

have been roped in to play pivotal characters in the upcoming show,

Bal Shiv

. The mythological show, we hear, is an untold and unheard story of Lord Shiva’s baal roop.

Jaya was last seen in

Pinjara Khubsurti Ka

. Her track wound up after a reincarnation track was introduced in the show. Talking about Bal Shiv, she told us, “Yes, I am going to be a part of the show, but it will be a cameo. I have been roped in to play Parvati’s mother in the show. I am excited to join the cast of Bal Shiv since it has been a while since I was in a costume drama. I find it a lot of fun. It’s a nice break from the regular daily soaps. Kuch alag karne ko milta hai. I love mouthing dialogues in chaste Hindi, the diction, and the elaborate costumes.”

She has featured in several mythological shows, including Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, Jai Hanuman, Jai Maa Durga and Devon ke Dev...Mahadev.

Meanwhile, Mouli has been cast to play Anusuya, the wife of an ancient sage named Arti and daughter of

Prasuti

and Daksha according to the Hindu epics. When contacted, Mouli, who was last seen in a cameo in Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki in 2019, said, “I have been approached for the part, but nothing is finalised yet.”

When asked about missing in action from the small screen, she replied, “Well, I was focusing on web shows. The content on

platforms is nice and interesting. I want to explore different characters, which challenge the artiste in me.”
