It’s the least I can do, says Aakanksha Singh on distributing buttermilk & water to cops in Jaipur
With Rajasthan under lockdown, good Samaritans of Jaipur have come forward to help others in need and Bollywood and TV celebrities have also extended their support to these initiatives. Along with volunteers, various organizations are distributing food packets, sanitisers and masks to the needy.
Recently, she was spotted distributing buttermilk and water bottles to cops at JLN Marg in her hometown Jaipur. She shares, “We are sitting at home, much safer than the front-line corona warriors and people who are putting their lives at risk. They are leaving their families behind in order to protect us and our police force is working day and night. We often take them for granted and sometimes, treat them as villains when they penalize us for breaking rules. But the truth is that they are working hard and keeping a check for our own safety. Volunteers and NGOs are working for COVID-19 relief, donating and organizing food distribution for the families of COVID-19 patients waiting outside the hospital or the needy ones. We often forget about those who are doing their duty in this extreme heat. So, I thought of helping out by distributing water and buttermilk to these cops. This is the least we can do for them. With this initiative, I have seen the happiness on their faces and it’s priceless.”
