It’s final! Pandya Store actor Mohit Parmar to play Abhir in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Speculation has been rife regarding the casting of Abhir, the son of Akshara (Pranali Rathod) and Abhimanyu (Harshad Chopda), in the long-running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The character, presumed dead alongside Abhimanyu in a car accident before the time leap, was hinted at in a promo earlier this year. The teaser suggested the entry of a mysterious individual, believed to be Abhir. Initial reports had pointed to Raj Unadkat, known for his stint in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, as a contender for the role. However, it is now confirmed that Mohit Parmar, who was last seen in Pandya Store, has been chosen to play the much-anticipated character.

On air since January 2009, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has undergone numerous cast changes across its time leaps. The current lead couple — Abhira and Armaan Poddar — is played by Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit. Rohit, known for his roles in shows such as Shaurya Aur Suhani, Aise Karo Naa Vidaa, Sanskaar Laxmi, Chandragupta Maurya, Arjun, Razia Sultan, Porus, Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji, and Udaariyaan, joined the cast to play Armaan after the exit of Shehzada Dhami earlier this year.
