It’s an emotionally taxing phase, says Vikkas Manaktala, who left for Delhi after his family was hit by COVID-19

, flew down to his hometown, Delhi, to be by his family’s side after four members tested positive for

COVID-19

. Vikkas shares, “My parents, sister (Megha) and our house help tested positive on April 22 and we flew to Delhi on the following day. I am grateful to God that we could reach here on time to take care of them. They are recovering well. But this phase is emotionally taxing and mentally exhausting.”

The Namah actor is leaving no stone unturned to ensure everyone’s safety while the couple looks after those infected in his family. He says, “We have our daily dose of multivitamins, inhale steam and gargle at frequent intervals. We’re geared with masks, face shields and gloves throughout in a bid to protect ourselves to be able to take extra care of everyone in the family. All of them are separately quarantined and maintain complete discipline towards the healing process. My younger sister Simmi, cousin (Dr

Manaktala), Guunjan and I have divided duties to ensure each family member is given adequate medication, food and care for a speedy recovery.”

hit us. He shares, “I see my cousin, Chetna, work tirelessly and selflessly. I feel proud to have four doctors in my family and one of them is a front-line COVID warrior. I am extremely grateful to all

for their selfless work. Today, we need to stand united in our fight against this virus. I am inspired by all those who have come forward to help people. The need of the hour is to support and help each other. I really hope that together we as a nation overcome this catastrophe soon.”
