It will be interesting to return to TV after three years: Vaquar Shaikh on entering Anupamaa

Vaquar Shaikh, who was last seen in the show Vidya in 2020, is returning to the small screen with Rajan Shahi's Anupamaa. The actor will be seen playing restaurateur Yashpal's (Rituraj Singh) younger brother in the show. The actor, who is shown to have an army background, shares how he wanted to join the army when he was younger. He says, "After Vidya, I got some interesting offers on OTT platforms. So, the past three years I got busy acting in a film and web shows. After working for so many years on TV, I wanted to change gears and try something new. I am not saying I don't want to do TV but it is important to do other things if you get meaty offers. The content on TV is more dramatic while OTT shows are not. They are finite and they have different roles for actors. Anyway, I have enjoyed playing a variety of roles in the past two decades in showbiz."

Talking about his role in Anupamaa, Vaquar says, "It is a good show and I like the script. I am playing an army officer who moved to US to stay with his brother and mother in the show. In real life too, I wanted to become an army officer but after I came to Mumbai, life changed and I became an actor. I have played a cop and an army officer many times in TV shows. There will be a lot of twists and turns in the show."

In the current track, Anupama (Rupali Ganguly) moved to US. She is working in an Indian eatery. Her co-workers help her in settling after she meets with unfortunate events in US. Anuj (Gaurav Khanna) also stays in US with his daughter Aadhya.
