Saturday evening turned scary for the actors of the TV show Meri Saas Bhoot Hai. A leopard was spotted on the set and the unit members were petrified. Apparently the leopard had climbed the wooden ceiling of the set and even stepped on the light wires causing the electricity to go off. People started running out from the premises. The set is located in Film City.
Bombay Times reached out to actor
Vibhav Roy, who plays the main lead in the show. He said, "It was a scary experience. We were shooting in the evening and I had a scene with Anushka Srivastava. Suddenly the lights went off and first we thought it must have been some power cut. But a few minutes later, we were told that there was a leopard on the ceiling. They said the leopard had stepped on the wires and hence the lights went off. Around 100 people who were shooting on the set started running out of the set as soon as they heard this."
The leopard jumped and went into the jungle in a few minutes. Vibhav said, "In a few minutes, the leopard went away into the jungle. Later, the Forest Control Department came to the set. They also checked the neighbouring areas and ensured the safety of the cast and crew members."
The actor added, "There are many small pups on the set and I assume the leopard must have come looking for food. Film City used to have a lot of animals at one point, and now people are working here." So have they resumed shooting? He said, "The shooting resumed for a while on Saturday and then the team packed up. But such incidents are not new. Since the past two days we had been hearing about a cheetah being spotted in the vicinity."
Producer Rupali Guha confirmed the news. She said, "Yes, a leopard was spotted on the set yesterday. There are animals around Film City. It is their territory, so it is not something new to the people shooting here for years now."
Meri Saas Bhoot Hai has Kajal Chauhan, Vibhav Roy and
Sushmita Mukherjee playing important roles.
