It is a happy coincidence that I am working with Rajan Shahi and paired opposite Garvita Sadhwani again: Romiit Raaj on replacing Shivam Khajuria in Yeh Rishta

Romiit Raaj, who was last seen in Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si has replaced Shivam Khajuria's character in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Shivam played the role of Rohit, Armaan's (Rohit Purohit) brother who was shown to be dead in an accident a few months ago. However, now the character will return and it will be essayed by Romiit Raaj.

Romiit said, "I am glad to work with Rajan Shahi's production house again. I had an interesting role in Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si and now, I will play Rohit in Yeh Rishta. Coincidentally, I will be paired opposite Garvita Sadhwani, who was also my co-actor in Baatein. We shared a good connect and I am sure the chemistry will work in Yeh Rishta, too. Yeh Rishta is a long-running show and it is a blessing that I have got another opportunity so soon."

Shivam Khajuria, who was originally playing the role of Rohit, said, "I am happy for Romiit because he is stepping into Rohit's character. I had to refuse playing Rohit's role, because I have another opportunity in my kitty and I would not want to give up on it. Nothing is finalised yet but I will talk about my new project soon. I am glad that Rohit's character is back in the show."

The current track in Yeh Rishta revolves around Samriddhi Shukla and Rohit Purohit, their characters Abhira and Armaan now want to get married but they don't have Dadi sa's (Anita Raj) blessings. There is a constant tension between Dadi sa and Abhira. Dadi Sa has also threatened to leave the house, if Armaan marries Abhira.
