Ishika Gagneja: Failure plays a very important role in shaping a person’s journey
Actress Ishika Gagneja, who will next be seen in the much-anticipated film Border 2, began her journey in the entertainment industry as a child artist. Over the years, she has steadily carved a space for herself with films like Dangal and Dhadak. She is now excited to share screen space with stars like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh in Border 2.
Talking about success and failure, Ishika shares a mature perspective. “Failure plays a very important role in shaping a person’s journey. It teaches us to value success when it finally arrives. No one wins all the time, and failure keeps us grounded, humble and resilient. Believing in myself has always been the most important factor. Consistency truly is key.”
25-year-old Ishika reveals, “I began acting at the age of eight. My journey so far has been incredibly fulfilling. There have been days when I’ve booked multiple projects, and there have also been days of failure. But one thing has remained constant — consistency and self-belief. That mindset has allowed me to truly enjoy this journey.”
Looking ahead, Ishika says she wants to keep challenging herself. “I aspire to explore different genres, take on complex roles and do justice to every character I play. There is a lot of uncertainty in this profession, but over the years I’ve accepted it as an integral part of my journey. Acting genuinely makes me happy, and I truly believe in pursuing what you love.”
