Indian Idol 16: Jaya Prada questions Vishal Dadlani over Alia Bhatt dancing to her iconic song ‘Dafli Waale’ in Student of the Year
Yesteryear actress Jaya Prada, who has been part of some of the biggest hits of Indian film industry and has given popular dance number's is all set to be seen in the upcoming episode of Indian Idol 16. The actress will be gracing the episode and promos from the upcoming episode have been doing the rounds on social media. In one of the promos, the legendary actress is seen grilling composer-singer Vishal Dadlani for making actress Alia Bhatt dance to the superhit song 'Dafli Waale', which originally featured the veteran actress.
The actress makes a dashing entry on the Indian Idol stage in a ghoonghat and immediately questions Vishal Dadlani. She turns to Vishal and in a playful tone, teases him by saying that one of her old songs had been given to another actress, joking that it wasn’t quite fair.
Vishal, who initially looks amused by the question, goes on to explain the context further. He shared that in the film Student of the Year, a portion of the song Radha included a segment inspired by Dafli Waale. For the uninitiated, the song was originally picturised on Rishi Kapoor, and that particular part featured Alia dancing to it.
That's not all, she doesn't spare him easily and announces that Vishal will be punished for the same. He calls him on stage and makes him play Dafli while she dances on the hit song. Her graceful moves won everyone's heart and judges Badshah and Shreya Ghoshal gave her a standing ovation.
Host Aditya Narayan joined the fun and kept the mood playful with a witty one-liner as he welcomed the veteran actress. He joked that he first thought she was a “goon,” but she completely surprised him. He said, “I thought she was a goon, but she turned out to be a killer. Our desi girl turned out to be Jaya Prada.”
For those who are unaware, the iconic song 'Dafli Waale', was originally picturized on Jaya Prada and the late actor Rishi Kapoor. The song is from the superhit movie Sargam and was sung by the legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi. The movie was released in 1979.
