host Aditya Narayan turned a year older on August 6. On the occasion, a pleasing birthday celebration was organised for the singer on the sets of the show. Aditya, who turned 34, rang in his birthday with the Top 6 contestants of Indian Idol 12, his parents Udit Narayan and Deepa Narayan, ace Bollywood singer Alka Yagnik and others on the stage.

The birthday boy took to his Instagram today (August 7) and shared a video from the celebration. He can be seen cutting the palpable cakes while everyone sings the birthday song for him.

Aditya posted the video and wrote, “Birthday celebration with my parents & #IndianIdol family last night.”

On August 6, the singer shared a post with his picture as he made a wish on his birthday. Wishing for humanity and for coronavirus to leave our lives for good, Aditya wrote, “On this birthday I wish for humanity to look beyond borders, religion & colour to rise & thrive as a collective & unstoppable force of nature. We are all one P.S. Dear coronavirus बस बहुत हो गया अब जाओ यहाँ से”

Meanwhile, several celebrities from the film and television industry, Indian Idol 12 contestants and fans showered Aditya with their best wishes and love on his birthday.

On the work front, the singer who is currently hosting Indian Idol 12 is all set to host the upcoming season of

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa

. Talking about which he told

, “Before I start shooting for a new show, I have to trick my brain into believing that this is the first-ever reality show I am hosting. Fortunately, I have done that convincingly in the past. My brain has been fooled so far and that’s exactly what I am going to do again (laughs!).”

It is also abuzz that Aditya has decided to quit hosting shows after 2022 as he plans to take bigger responsibilities then. Speaking about which in one of his previous interviews, he said, “2022 will be my final year as a host on Indian television. I won’t host after that. It’s time to do bigger things. I am bound by prior commitments, which I will complete in the coming months. I have such beautiful associations and relations in the industry that agar main abhi chhod doonga toh it will be like abandoning the ship midway. I am laying the foundation for my way out.”
