IN PICS: These TV actresses romanced older actors convincingly in daily soaps

TV actresses haven't shied away from romancing older actors on-screen. Be it Nehha Pendse or Erica Fernandes, several actresses have played jodidars to senior actors in daily soaps. Here's taking a look at some of them...

Nehhe Pendse, who has joined Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain as Anita Bhabhi, is shown to be wife of Vibhuti Narayan, played by Aasif Sheikh. They are two decades apart yet play their parts convincingly on-screen.

Reem Shaikh, who is seen in Tujhse Hai Raabta as Kalyani Malhar Rane, is way younger than her co-star, Sehban Azim (ACP Malhar Rane). Talking about her equation with Sehban, Reem had earlier told ETimes TV, "We get along really well. In the beginning, I knew he was older. But we both are very similar. We are reserved and like similar kinds of music. The two of us laugh off our romantic scenes. When you know it's acting and you are doing it for the camera, there's no awkwardness."

Avika Gor and Manish Raisinghan worked together in Sasural Simar Ka. The two are almost twenty years apart but their romance and chemistry on-screen led people to believe they are dating in real life, too. Talking about working with Manish, Avika had said, "Manish is just a few years younger than my father, so there is no scope for any romantic involvement. We share a unique bond of friendship, which is inexplicable. It is based on understanding, respect, honesty and maturity. We are BFFs and he is a strong support system."

Television show Jhansi Ki Rani which featured Anushka Sen in the titular role saw her romancing Vikas Manaktala. He played the role of King Gangadhar in the historical drama. The two are almost thirty years apart but shared a great equation on set.

In season 2 of Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Erica Fernandes, who played the role of Prerna, was paired briefly opposite Sanjay Swaraj (seen as Naveen Babu). His obsession with her was one of the major plot twists. Even Karan Singh Grover, who played Mr Bajaj in the daily soap, happens to be more than a decade older than Erica.

In Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Nidhi, played by Kritika Kamra, was shown to have fallen in love with Dr Ashutosh Mathur, which was essayed by Mohnish Behl and then Sharad Kelkar. Even though they are years apart, the chemistry shared by the lead pair was loved by the viewers.

Smiriti Kalra romanced senior actor Sanjay Kapoor in Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara. There's an age gap of more than 20 years between them. However, talking about their equation, Smiriti had dismissed any concerns of discomfort. She had said, "Not at all. We are both actors and it’s my job to play a character convincingly. He is sweet and has no airs about the fact that he belongs to one of the most prominent families in the industry."

Shweta Tiwari, who played the role in Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2001) was shown to be married to the middle-aged business tycoon Mr. Bajaj (Ronit). They are apart by several years yet shared a comfortable equation on-screen.
