I’m ready for marriage but won’t rush into it: Pavitra Punia
Pavitra Punia is now focusing on OTT, but she clarifies that TV will continue to remain a strong space for her. “I am a television baby and I will always return to it if I’m offered a strong role. The only issue nowadays is budgets, otherwise, I love the medium,” says the actress, who was earlier seen in Ishq Ki Dastaan – Naagmani and Tenali Rama.
On the personal front, Pavitra says she’s single, but is ready for marriage. She was in a relationship with Eijaz Khan post their Bigg Boss stint five years ago, but the two separated in 2023.
The Baalveer actress says, “I’m keen to get married and settle down. In fact, my family has even set a deadline of one and a half years.”
Pavitra says that proposals have come in through arranged set-ups, but she wants to take her time. “I don’t want to rush into anything. I haven’t yet found the person with whom I want to spend the rest of my life. I believe it will happen at the right time,” she adds.
Pavitra says she OTT has been on her mind for a while. Sharing about it in an earlier interview with us, she said, “Half my career has been about reality shows and the other half about fiction on television. Now, I want to dedicate the coming years to web series. Initially, the idea of intimacy on screen held me back, but I’ve come to realise that it’s usually the demand of the script and not a personal choice. For the first time, I’ve even done an on-screen kiss,” she reveals. For Pavitra, every character she takes on must resonate with her mindset. “I cannot play weak or ‘bechari’ characters. I’m drawn to powerful roles—that’s my space,” she asserts.
