‘I’m not quiet and timid’

Karuna Pandey (TOI Photo)For some actors, it is the thrill of being on stage that gives them a high while for some, it is the big bad world of Bollywood that makes them want to give their best. But for actress Karuna Pandey, the medium does not make that much difference.
���The definition of acting never changes. Sirf tareeka badal jaata hai. I���m an actress and my job is to act,��� says Karuna.
The young actress is currently playing Amrit in Mera Sasural on SaharaOne and says that she identifies with the character to the extent that she has similar values.���Amrit is a sweet and sacrificing girl. But she���s a quiet, timid girl and I don���t relate to those aspects of her character,��� she says. Prior to her appearance in the serial, Karuna has acted in Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki and Pyar Ke Do Naam, Ek Radha Ek Shyam.
For this girl from Dehradun, acting didn���t happen by chance, rather she worked towards it. She did her Masters in Indian Theatre from Punjab University, after she worked with NSD for a year before making Mumbai her base. At present she is busy with this show as well as her play Golmal Pyar Ka, for which she has been touring all over with Rajpal Yadav and Manoj Joshi. ���Acting in theatre gives me creative satisfaction,��� she adds with a smile. She says she would love to take up another show, and would also like to take part in a dance reality show, since she���s learnt kathak and is very fond of dancing.
