Many youngsters come to Mumbai from different parts of the country to fulfill their dreams. One such actor is
Ankur Verma, who came to this city from a small town in Haryana. He says, "I came to Mumbai in 2018 to pursue acting. I started auditioning and got my first break in 2019. I bagged a role in
Yeh Hain Chahatein
."
He later went on to do Naagin 4 and is now seen in Parineetii.
Ankur
had got used to living alone in Mumbai, but he misses his family. He says, "I miss my family and mummy ke hath ka khaana. But living alone teaches you a lot and you get to understand life on your own. Plus, I get my personal space too. Now I know how to buy groceries for the house on my own. Sometimes I do think of how much I troubled my family for such things. But it's a great learning experience for me."
Ankur feels lucky to have been working during pandemic, but he feels sad for those who have suffered during this period. "The last two years have been overall upsetting and difficult for people as some lost their loved ones. Some people lost their jobs and went through that struggle. But then this is the new normal and we all are learning to live with it. Right now newcomers too are finding it very difficult to get work in the acting industry. And it gets even more difficult for them to settle here in these circumstances," he says.
Ankur is currently seen playing a lead role in the show Parineetii alongside actress
Anchal Sahu
. This is the first time he has bagged a lead role. Earlier Ankur was seen playing supporting roles or cameos. He says, "If you have talent then no one can stop you."
