Yash who’s better known these days as afternoon daily Karam Apna Apna’s Shiv, was pleasantly surprised when he visited homes in Ahmedabad and found women fans welcoming him with dhoklas and chutney.
“I think there is a sense of togetherness in the people of Ahmedabad, which is absent in bigger cities.”
The actor who claims that he wasn’t fit to do anything else, started his career as a model and even organised fashion shows. Although he considers television his ‘bread and butter,’ films interest him more. He is in fact looking forward to his next film Kisse Pyaar Karoon with Arshad Warsi. Talking about reality shows, one asks him whether he finds the popular polling system to be fair, especially in the final rounds? Yash who was a finalist for Nach Baliye 2, comes with a diplomatic reply. “When I was asked to participate in the show, I was happy that I would be doing something different. But when the judges started criticising, I felt ‘ek to bulaate ho aur phir criticise bhi karte ho,’” he laughs.Yash married his co-star Gauri Yadav and is a proud father of a pretty daughter. When it comes to acting, he idolises Dilipsaab and finds him to be one of the finest actors in the country. Given a chance, he would want to portray Sunil Dutt’s role in Mother India and on television it would have to be Superman. Often remembered for his big screen cameo in Ishq Vishq, Yash feels he is best when he’s doing serious roles. Hailing from Tonk village in Haryana, Yash confesses that he is happy doing television right now. “I have no regrets absolutely whatever. I feel that I have got my best in all the women-centric television serials I have worked in,” he signs off. We hope his mentor Ekta Kapoor heard that one!
