Actress Sonya Saamoor, who is seen in the television show, Sirf Tum, broke down while shooting for an intense scene. She plays the role of Riya in the show. The actress recently shot for an intense scene depicting suicide. She spoke about how the scene took a toll on her and she felt all the emotions faced by her character.
The actor says, "I broke down on the set while shooting for an intense scene.
I was so into the mood of the character even after the director said cut. I could feel Riya’s pain even while reading the script in the morning. On set when it came down to doing the scene I had to break the glass and move it towards my wrist and I just couldn’t stop crying, I didn’t need any glycerine at that moment, it was all so painful and real to me.”
Further adding, the actress says, "It's very hard to do an intense scene because it has to look real, which means you have to go through the same emotions as the character. So when Riya was at her lowest, I was feeling at my lowest too. I could feel all the troubles she’s going through, one must never take such a step in life but when you are in that darkest moment of your life where you are so close to taking that step it feels like the only solution, but it’s never the solution, Riya was screaming for help and my heart was crying for her."
Talking further about the pain that Riya is going through, the actress says, "Riya needs to love herself and should prioritise herself more than anybody else. She needs to understand if someone doesn't love you the same way you do, you don't have to go after them like that. You have to learn to let things go and come to terms with the fact that it's ok if that person doesn't love you. Go where people truly celebrate you and love you. So Riya needs that healing. Obviously Riya is a fictional character, but a lot of us have seen the dark side of life and what I need people to know is that you will always come out of it. Life is beautiful."
Speaking further about the self-satisfaction that comes after doing a scene, the actress says, "Most important thing to me is to be satisfied with my performance, I’m my biggest critic and I don’t like to go home if I’m not satisfied with my scene. Also if my director isn’t happy with my scene, I’d keep feeling like I’m not done yet. We do it till we get the perfect shot."
