I can’t be one among 10 people on Kapil Sharma’s show: Krushna Abhishek

Both Kapil Sharma and Krushna Abhishek got noticed on the show Comedy Circus. Such was their popularity that viewers looked forward to their comedy acts in every episode. While Kapil moved on to do his own show, Comedy Nights With Kapil, Krushna continued to focus on films and started anchoring the show Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.
Recently, Krushna was invited to be a part of Kapil’s show, which he declined and apparently Kapil was quite upset about it.
Krushna, however, is quite clear that he is an actor first, and didn’t want to get slotted as a stand-up comedian. “I am a huge fan of Kapil Sharma and his show, but I am not in the space that Kapil has made for himself,” he said.

Elaborating further, he said, “I am an actor and I can’t be slotted as a stand-up comedian like him. If I am invited to his show, I will need my own space to do my act rather than be one among the 10 people performing on his show. Comedy Circus was a skit-based show, where we performed many acts, while Kapil’s show is just a stand-up comedy show.”
The actor also wants to be known by his name, and not as a character. “Comedy actors should also be known by their names on shows. For instance, a talented man like Kiku Sharda is participating as Palak on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, I can’t do that. I want to be known by my name and not as a character,” he said.
