I can never be the other woman in real life: Barkha Bisht on her exit from Kyunki 2
Barkha Bisht is set to exit Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, where she plays Noina, the other woman in Mihir’s life. Talking about her track coming to an end, Barkha says, “At some point, Noina had to get exposed and the truth had to come out, so it is time for my exit. The makers may plan to bring my track back in the future, but as of now, my role is over.”
‘It was terrible playing the other woman’
Barkha admits that it wasn’t easy playing the other woman. “It was terrible playing the other woman. But fortunately, there was a certain maturity with which Ekta wrote my character. She is someone who has fallen in love with the wrong man and made the wrong choices, and tries to justify her actions. But at the end of the day, what is wrong is wrong.”
She adds, “I completely relate to what Mihir’s wife Tulsi is going through and wish that on no woman. In real life, I have seen such a situation and I can never be the other woman.”
‘My past is completely irrelevant right now’
On the personal front, Barkha separated in 2022, but her divorce is yet to come through. She says, “Time is the biggest healer when you face difficult situations in life. There are more important things in life and you begin to focus on what lies ahead. Every person takes a different amount of time to reach that space, and then the past becomes unimportant. I have reached that place. My past is completely irrelevant right now.”
Reflecting on how life has changed in recent years, she says, “I don’t depend on anyone for my happiness. The past few years have taught me that the only person you depend on is yourself. Today, I’m building a happy environment for my daughter Meira and myself. I also have some dear friends like Sayantani (Ghosh), Karan Veer (Mehra), Gulfam (Khan) and Ashish (Sharma). I feel safe around them and want to focus only on this little world. Life is beautiful and I am happy.”
