At a time when senior artistes complain about the scarcity of opportunities on TV, Abhay Bhargava seems to have struck gold. The senior artiste, who is a part of Molkki, which features Priyal Mahajan,
Amar Upadhyay and Ankit Gera, has been roped in to play Disha Parma’s father in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 (BALH 2). What’s interesting is that while Abhay plays a positive character in Molkki, his character in BALH 2 will be negative.
He tells us, “I am getting to enjoy the best of both worlds.
The saying ‘a man with two faces’ is apt in my case (laughs!). It is true that not many artistes from my age group get great opportunities. So, I feel lucky and blessed to be offered such varied roles with contrasting shades. I have been fortunate to be constantly working and being offered meaningful roles to date.”
He has been missing in action in Molkki, as his track on the show is on hold for two months. Abhay tells us that he is going to resume the shoot soon. He adds, “When I last shot for Molkki in June, some changes were introduced in the story and the show went in for a year-long time leap. As a result, my track reduced and the ongoing storyline didn’t require my character. I have received a call from the production house to report on the shoot. How my track will shape up post the time leap, remains to be seen. However, the new track will see Bheem Mamaji (his character) return to the show. I am quite excited about returning to Molkki.”
He feels happy about balancing two shows at a time. “I am a workaholic and I am happy to be doing two shows, simultaneously. Being on a TV set makes me feel alive. I love portraying different characters and now, I am getting to play two diverse characters. I am in a beautiful phase in my career,” he concludes.
