Hunar Hali on Rimjhim’s leap: It gives you the chance to rediscover your character and play new emotional beats

Television show Rimjhim has recently taken a two-year time leap, marking a new phase in the narrative. Hunar Hali, who plays Mohini, says the shift has opened up fresh possibilities for the story and her character.

Speaking about the development, Hunar shares that the leap signals a reset for the show. She says, “A leap has been introduced in Rimjhim. Post-leap, the show promises more emotions, greater intensity, and many unexpected turns. I hope viewers continue to shower the same love as we enter a new phase of the story while retaining the emotional core that the audience is deeply connected to. For an actor, it is extremely exciting. A leap gives you the chance to rediscover your character and play new emotional beats.”

Explaining why the leap was necessary at this stage, Hunar feels it was important for the narrative to evolve. She says, “At this point, the story needed a shift, both emotionally and narratively. The leap allows the characters to evolve, face the consequences of their past choices, and explore deeper relationships. It is not just about moving forward in time but about showing how circumstances change people from within.”

The actor is particularly looking forward to portraying Mohini’s transformation after the leap. Talking about the character’s new arc, she shares, “Mohini’s journey becomes far more layered after the leap. Until now, she was largely driven by power, control, and survival. Post-leap, you will see a quieter and more introspective side of her, someone who has loved, lost and learned. She is still strong, but her strength now comes from restraint.”

Hunar adds that the emotional shift also reflects in the way the character expresses herself. She says, “Mohini now has silence, pauses and unspoken emotions, and that is very challenging and fulfilling to portray. I am grateful that the audience has accepted her so wholeheartedly, especially her bond with her son and the hero. I am really looking forward to taking the viewers on this new journey.”

The leap brings a visible change in Mohini’s appearance. “Yes, there is a noticeable change in her look. Mohini has transitioned to something simpler and more grounded, with a shift from bright tones to softer, pastel shades. The idea was to mirror her internal transformation. There is less external show and more emotional depth,” Hunar explains.
