Hunar Hale on her bond with Veer Hanuman child co-star Tanmay Rishi; says ‘To bond better on-screen, I understood more about his relationship with his real mom’
Actress Hunar Hale Gandhi, currently portraying Queen Kaikeyi in the mythological series Veer Hanuman, has found the experience both deeply emotional and creatively enriching. Speaking about her role, Hunar shared, “Playing a mother to Lord Ram has been emotionally gratifying.” Known for her nuanced performances, Hunar brings a fresh sensitivity to the character, often remembered for sending Ram into exile. “Kaikeyi is often seen through a one-dimensional lens, but she was much more than her one decision. She was loving and brave,” she says.
To embody Kaikeyi’s emotional complexity, Hunar embraced the poise, grace, and control required for such a layered role. “Mythology demands a sense of therav (pause), grace, and correctness in speech and movement. Fitness and poise were essential,” she explains.
As filming progresses, Hunar is also forming meaningful connections on set, particularly with child actor Tanmay Rishi, who plays the young Lord Ram. “Tanmay is incredibly endearing,” Hunar reveals. “To bond better on-screen, I understood more about his relationship with his real mom, and he was so sweet and helpful. His professionalism is impressive for someone so young.” She adds, “I make it a point to greet everyone with a smile and set the tone for a positive working day.”
With the Ayodhya track currently unfolding in Veer Hanuman, audiences can look forward to powerful narratives centered around devotion, loyalty, and emotional depth. “Viewers will witness the unbreakable bond between Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman,” Hunar shares. “It’s a spiritual and emotional journey that offers both inspiration and connection.”
From exploring Kaikeyi’s inner turmoil to nurturing on-screen chemistry with her young co-star, Hunar Hali’s journey on Veer Hanuman promises to leave a lasting impact on viewers.
