Himanshi Parashar on her show going off air: I was emotionally attached to Teri Meri Dooriyann

Himanshi Parashar is sad that her show will wrap up on July 14.
TV show Teri Meri Dooriyann is wrapping up on July 14. The show, which revolved around three brothers and sisters and had Vijayendra Kumeria and Himanshi Parashar playing lead roles started in January 2023. The show took a five-year leap recently and the makers also introduced Himanshi in a double role.

Himanshi said, "I am emotionally very attached to the show and my character Sahiba. It was a great experience playing Sahiba but viewership declined after the five-year leap. Since then, there were many changes in the script, a lot of twists and turns, but somehow the show was not able to garner the kind of viewership we enjoyed six months ago. I am no one to comment on the script and feel that it is the channel's decision and I respect it. At the end of the day it is business and the show has to get good viewership. I enjoyed playing a Sikh girl and my career had a great journey in the show. From a young girl who is ambitious and self-made to getting married and then becoming a mother to now again playing another character."

She added, "After playing Sahiba, when I played Gurnoor, it was a refreshing change, because I am doing something totally different."

In an earlier interview to BT, the actress had said, "In a TV show, often there are sudden changes made to a story, depending on the ratings, but that’s the nature of the business, says Himanshi. “Everything on TV depends on viewership. In fact, whatever is narrated to us at the beginning may not remain the same as the show progresses."
