Mumbai has been receiving heavy rainfall since early morning today (August 29). Widespread water-logging has been reported in several parts of the city. The rains have been significantly heavy and are expected to continue, said officials from the India meteorological Department (IMD).
Some of the areas that have witnessed severe water logging include St. Pius church area in Mulund, Pratiksha Nagar on Sion, Sahar Police station premises, Khar Jaybharat society and Hindmata junction where water levels seem to be steadily rising.
The India meteorological Department has issued a warning of intermittent rain or showers with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in the city and its suburbs.
