Having a daughter feels empowering: Manav Gohil
Manav Gohil and Shweta Kawaatra’s joy knows no bounds these days. After all, this star couple recently became the proud parents of a baby girl.
An elated Manav shares, “Last night, I barely got to sleep for a couple of hours. But then, it was such a pleasure! Earlier, it only used to be my pet dog Mowgli who would wake me up at odd hours and this new addition to my family feels wonderful! I had hoped to have a daughter and now that the dream has come true, it feels so empowering! Having a child brings out the inherent impulses and emotions of a person and I am absolutely loving this new responsibility.”
On the professional front, he will be seen in the upcoming Gujarati film Saptapadi, where he plays the lead alongside veteran actor Swaroop Sampat.
He says, “I am playing a character that’s much older than myself and initially, I thought I wouldn’t fit the role. I had to work a lot on my body language and make-up. It’s a film that doesn’t have a huge budget, but it certainly has a fabulous script. As a child, I grew up watching Swaroopji’s amazing body of work and initially, it was hard to digest that I would be playing the role of her husband! She is one of the easiest co-actors to work with and the best part about actors from the old school is that they have no airs about themselves. They never behave like stars!”
On TV, Manav will be seen in a show called The Buddy Project. He shares, “I play an investment banker who is compelled to become a teacher due to unavoidable circumstances. It’s a very interesting role.”
